Life
It's been a while. At school I'm already wanting to be done with calculus, which I have all year and have to take an AP test on. In choir we're singing Christmas music, and in band we're finishing up the last two weeks of marching season before starting concert band. We had a band dance last night after rehearsal. History fails to be a class I look forward to. In seminary we're currently in Luke, and the stake is one week away from our Cumorah Hill production. CDs for honor bands are due soon, I should've practiced more, but I say that every year and never seem to get around to it. Prop. 8 passed, yay, but the no-on-8-people are fighting against it still.

First Football Game
I can't say I payed too full attention to the game, but the varsity did end up winning by a significant amount. For the most part I was paying more attention to the music, drum cadences, and friends. It was overall a fun game. Because we're only suppose to have four piccalos for football games, I ended up playing flute even though I'm piccalo in the field show, and a lot of the seniors played piccalo. Rachel said we'd switch off through-out the year. We also had 10-6 band practice yesterday.
Gary's Mission Call
Gary got his mission call to the South Africa Cape Town Mission English speaking on Monday (I wasn't there when he opened it because of band, so I got texted the results.) He called a lot of people to tell them the first day. He's extremely excited, and looked up South Africa on the internet, including the CIA's website. So far it appears to be a beautiful place with good weather year round, some edible sounding food, some gross sounding food (maybe that's just me), and penguins. He's already started working on getting his Visa, which is why he doesn't leave until Jan. He's counting down the days, and it sounds like he wants to learn one of the dialects.

Long Week
Monday feels like a long time ago. This week I had my first orchestra rehersal on Thursday, my first Super Saturday (band rehersal during marching season) from 9-6, went to the Rocklin Stake dance after the band practice, and went horseback riding Friday. At mutual on Wednesday we had two wards practicing for the stake musical. We're not very loud, so when I hit the high A at the end of the piece like it says, some of the people around me jumped. Thankfully we've gotten some of our Christmas music for ward choir. In YW's class today we had a lesson on dating and recieved a mini salsa jar with the label "Never let things get hot and spicy while dating." I thought that was cute.

Week's recap
We had the Decades dance at the school (Juniors are 70s, so I borrowed a dress from a friend), my first horseback riding lesson for the school session (lots of fun), a get-together with friends Saturday night, and seating auditions for the orchestra I'm in (which went well). Also, I passed my 1st math test with an A-. That was nice.

New Title
About the new title: Freshman year my friends Gina and Joanna Finn (twins) decided that I should be a childrens book called "The Littlest Lisa" With help from Emily Darcey and other they came up with a lot of chapters, and the plot is that I'm trying to get to zero period on time, but took a wrong turn in chapter one. Their ideas were actually really funny and involved tiny squid named Loren, a camel in need of a spittoon, shampoo the whale, smiles, a crazy old man in a hot air balloon, various different regions of the world, and other stuff.
Life
So calculus is getting less overwhelming this week, and I also get to sing 1st soprano in choir, which is happy. I went to see Macbeth this week, my friend Shannon was a witch, and the acting was good, but the concept was messed up. It was suppose to be a modern version of Macbeth. They kept all the Shakespeare-ian language, but everyone was dressed in business attire, because King Duncan was an attorney and everyone else was associates, spouses, cleaning ladies in the office... I personally don't think it makes sense for someone to limp into a modern day business meeting talking about a war they've just come from. It just seemed weird. Because of all that, and other stuff, it turned out to not be the most enjoyable performance I've seen in my life. I'm still thinking Wicked was the best.

Its been a while
I haven't posted anything for a while, no surprise there. School just started again and for my first term I have Seminary, Band (0/2 period), AP Calculus, Advanaced girls choir, and US history. Not too bad of a schedule, but I don't like Calculus, and I'm not too fond of my history class either. Fortunatly I have lots of people I know in all my classes, including my friend who just returned from living in England for about a year.

Hold on
One week of left and then my life will hopefully get way easier. Why? Because AP testing will be over, and I won't have the musical. I'm hoping to get more flute practice in, and also to be able read more for fun. Who knows, maybe I'll even work harder for Japanese and get organized. I'll probably keep myself pretty busy though. This week will be AP Euro, my new anime obsession DN Angel, flute, musical, and probably some good old fashioned slacking...yay.

Frequently Baby (teenage maniac)
The title is from an excellent song by Melee. Is it weird that sometimes I'm completly opposed to doing things I love and never want to stop doing? Like some days I just don't feel like horseback riding. Weird because: I'm in love with the horse I ride (Innish), I get to see my friends, and my instructors are great. Having lots to do, and not using time very well just makes me too burned out, and wanting to sit at home being lazy. Problem is, I do that enough anyway...

Good Day Sunshine
For anyone who likes reading: here's a good website to try that my brother recommended. http://www.goodreads.com/ I use it to record my feelings on the books I read and when I read them, as well as any sentimental value (such as recommended by a friend).
Disappear
For my group english project I had to write a poem comprised of quotes from to book (with some editing, adding on, and changing so that it made sense and flowed) from the book All Quiet on the Western Front, by Erich Maria Remarque. Mine's based on the theme of the lost generation:
The front: we become on the instant human animals.
We are insensible dead men, who through some dreadful magic are still able to run and to kill.
Beyond this our life does not extend.
A few years ago we would have despised ourselves terribly.
Now it is all a matter of habit.
Our early life was cut off from the moment we came here.
We stood on the threshold of life,
But now we only know that in some strange and melancholy way we have become a waste land.
We cannot sleep,
Our pierced and shattered souls bear the torturing image of the brown earth with the convulsed and dead soldiers.
At first astonished, then embittered, and finally indifferent,
We became hard, suspicious, pitiless, vicious, tough-and that was good.
If your own father came over with them you would not hesitate to fling a bomb at him.
Dead, dead, dying, and we live.
A generation of men who may have escaped the shells, but were destroyed by the war.
The war swept us away.
When we go home, we might exist there, but should we really live there?
No, I believe we are lost.

One Day More (of being sick)
Sukoshi byooki desu. For those of you who aren't in Japanese: that means I'm slightly sick. Right now I'm in Japanese 2. Sneezing a lot is not fun. So I guess I should mention I'm in the chorus of Les Miserables at my school as a worker (Fantine's friend) and a gang member (3 word solo). The leads are:
Jean Valjean-Galen Sato
Javert-Kyle Cherry
Marius-Brian Sebesta
Cosette-Mariella Cohen
Fantine-Jenna Strubing
Enjolas-Matt Hopper
Eponine: Jayme Piscuitta
Madame Thenardier: Alana Goldsheild

Another one bites the dust
considering I've written once since school started, I might as well talk about it. My marching band had an undefeated season, my chemistry teacher is a psycho, and it's been a lot more stressful than last year. Unfortunatly, I'm not motivated by the stress.
Unwritten
So it's pretty much been forever since I updated this thing. I will be returning to school tomorrow and attempting to survive until finals are over. They are two weeks away and evil. After that I will be enjoying a lighter schedual of Ap euro/english, Japanese 2, choir, band, and pe. Random stuff about me: my new favorite singer is Taylor Swift, and my sister taught me how to sing a song in Tongan.
